How To Become Really Good At Writing Tháng Tám 17, 2011

Filed under: Public relation — mailinhblog @ 7:00 sáng

Look, you get really good at writing by doing two things. First, you have to read good writing every day for at least a half hour. Second, you have to write every day.

Why is it important to read good writing every day? Because the second best way to get good at something is to study the technique of the people that are already good. The first best way to get good at something is of course, doing the thing you want to get good at over and over.

How do you know if someone is good at writing? If they are popular, they are a good writer. If their blog has thousands of subscribers, they are a good writer. If they sell a lot of books they are a good writer. If their writing makes you happy when you read it, they are a good writer. So study them, and learn how to write good from them. They are willing to be your life coach for free, read their words and learn.

Where do you find good writing to read? You find good writing by reading good blogs, and reading books that get no less than four stars on Amazon.

Why do you need to write every day? Obviously to get good at things you need to do them a lot. It takes 10,000 hours of doing something over and over again to become a master. Tiger Woods started playing golf at age 3 and his father pushed him hard to get good at it and now he is considered the best player in the history of golf. Andre Agassi was pushed so hard to get good at tennis when he was young that he started hating the game, but he became one of the worlds best players. If you want to get good at writing, start writing.

The holiday month has started so do yourself a favor and enjoy it. Spend lots of time with the people you love, eating good food and being warm and happy. Remember that one day you are going to die, maybe today, and everything you have and everyone you know will be gone forever. The only thing that will matter is the time you spent with the people you loved.
